Introduction
In 1923, Shinjiro Torii began producing the first whisky in Japan, which was later released in 1929 as the first domestically produced whisky.
Initially known as "Suntory Whisky" with a white label, it became known as "Hakusen" or "White Note" and was beloved by whisky enthusiasts after World War II. It has since been affectionately referred to as "Shiro" or "White."
In 1964, it was officially renamed to its current name, "White."
